you need to do research how many acres of land will be needed to support one cow, then multiply that by your number of cows. This will depend a lot where your cattle farm is. Also you need to answer questions if there is fresh food growing all year round (probably not), if you need additional acreage to grow food for winter or if you can buy it. If you grow it yourself you need to deal with buying the farm equipment for cutting grass and baling hay. You’ll need storage for additional feed and minerals. Worry about fences and water supply (depending on area). Decide if you are going to breed cows as well, or just buy weaned calves and raise them until they are big enough.
