Land Grants for Farmers in Alabama?

Recently, a large tract of land adjacent to family property has become available. There is no way that we can afford to buy it on our own, however, I have heard that there are grants available to farmers for such purchases. My family has a cattle farm on the property we own and I would like to buy the new tract of land to extend the business and increase our herd. If anyone has any information on this type of grant it would be much appreciated.

Local lenders will know, including what your family must do to qualify. I doubt we tax payers will be buying the land for you, but there are very low interest loans available to low income farmers.
